Marc Maron: Netflix Profits from Fascist Algorithms; Trump Is a Puppet of the Architect of “Project 2025”

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, American actor and comedian Marc Maron, in a recent interview on the podcast Pod Save America, accused Netflix of promoting “fascism” and criticized comedians such as Dave Chappelle and Bill Maher.
He said: “Fascism is good for business. Netflix will work with anyone who plays into that algorithm. I used to joke that Netflix might quickly turn into ‘Reichflix.’”

Maron believes the “crucial moment” came when Netflix ignored protests from transgender people over Dave Chappelle’s stand-up specials streamed on the platform: “After a few days they realized that crowd had no impact on their bottom line. And they abandoned them. That’s how fascism works in business.”
Maron released two stand-up comedy specials on Netflix in 2017 and 2020, but his two more recent specials were aired on HBO. Two years ago, he told Collider that he hadn’t left Netflix in protest against its “fascist algorithms,” but rather that the platform simply had no interest in picking up his work.
At the time he said: “In some ways, as a comedian, it’s better not to be on Netflix, right? Because it’s like a gamble, and they don’t really support anything. It’s just about what the algorithm dictates.”
The star of GLOW and Joker went on to claim in the podcast that Donald Trump is a “criminal” and a “puppet” of the architect behind Project 2025. Trump has previously denied any ties to Russ Vought, director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
Project 2025 includes sweeping plans to fire thousands of federal employees, restructure regulatory agencies, and expand presidential power. Supporters argue it will significantly reduce costs, while critics warn of authoritarian measures.
Maron said of the project: “But you see Trump is still a puppet of something bigger, and as long as he’s the front man, he doesn’t care what it is.”
Vought’s role as OMB director was to implement presidential policies and manage the related agencies. Before joining the Trump administration, Vought had more than 20 years of political experience in Washington, D.C.
